LOOK Beauty Double Hit Lip - Rose Riot

My first purchase from LOOK Beauty's offering. After seeing this shade on Kate's blog, I knew I had to investigate further!

This houses a lipstick and lipgloss in one, which is perfect for travels. The lipstick is in a metal case, which snaps in. And the lipgloss in a screw plastic pot with a doe foot applicator. I think it is really attractive packaging, and I love the design and the font. Plus it's not very big, it fits in your hand perfectly, and is just the right size so it doesn't take over your make-up bag or get lost either! The shades are a corally-pink. And both are pigmented to wear together or alone. I personally hardly ever wear lipglosses, but these look great together so I more than likely will wear this one.

The lipstick has a gold tinge to it, a bit like the finish of MACs frost lipsticks. Transfers on to the lip well, with a creamy pay-off. The lipgloss is a thick creamy gloss, a bit like a cream lipstick. It also smells like cream soda and caramel! The lipgloss on it's own is a bit similar to MACs Flamingo lipstick as it's a lustre finish. To be honest, I'm not that much of a fan of the lipstick by itself, so when I wear it I will have to combine it with the lipgloss.

I am quite impressed with my first purchase from LOOK Beauty, and also have a review of another of their products I purchased coming up soon. I would recommend taking a look at their cosmetic stand next time you're in Superdrug!

Katy Perry for Eylure

As you have probably heard by now, Katy Perry has released a range of eyelashes with Eylure. This are hotly anticipated as I personally think Katy's eyes are something worth replicating! Her range with OPI that was out in 2010 was a bit disappointing. I think everybody was expecting a bit more, whereas Nicki Minajs current OPI collection is a bit more fitting for her and a lot more exciting. Either way, looking at the promotion images, this collection looks a lot more promising.

Every time I see a picture of Katy Perry I literally have to hold myself back from buying black hair dye! (It may have been a good idea in school, but I'm not so sure now!) She looks great whatever she does, and she is a style icon to hundreds of thousands of people all over the globe. I love her for her confidence to wear whatever she wants, and to try different things. Her love of fruit and cute things such as kawaii. Also every time I've seen her live, her show, stage and props are amazing, always memorable, and you just want to go and jump around with her haha! Her style is someone I can relate to. I like lots of different trends, from pastels to a more gothic feel full of studs, black and crosses. And I feel Katy is the same, she will do and wear whatever she wants, and I think it is the best way to be!

“I have worn Eylure lashes all the way through my tour and really loved them. When it came to having a range of my own, I wanted everyone to have a great experience with my lashes. As they have such an amazing history and great quality, Eylure was really the best choice for me to work with.”
Sweetie Pie, £5.95
"This is a great lash for anyone who wants to try false lashes for the first time. It's sweet and subtle, but adds just the right amount of length and volume."

Cool Kitty, £5.95
"One of my favourite lashes! A perfect eveningwear lash with manicured tips. It can add the ideal finishing touch for a smoky look that will make people purr as you pass."

Oh, Honey! £5.95
"I love that vintage flick at the corners that this lash gives me. Full, fun and great for day or evening."
Oh, My! £6.95
"I love Eylure Double Lashes, and I just had to have one for my range of lashes. This style is full of texture, but lightweight and very wearable. The perfect accessory for your eyes."

I love the packaging, especially the polka dots and stripes, gives it that cute, girly, vintage feel. And I like the looks of Sweetie Pie and Cool Kitty. These are now available on the Boots website. I went into my nearest large local Boots store on Saturday night and they weren't in there, but they might be now.
Are you interested in these? Do you wear lashes? Are there any celebrity collaborations you would like to see? I think Jessie J is an obvious choice for nails or lipstick? I think she would be interesting :)

Soap & Glory - Thick & Fast Mascara

This is the free mascara available with this months ELLE magazine. It is worth £10 if you were to buy it on it's own, so it was obviously too good an offer to pass up!

It comes in a thick black tube, with pink font on the side, and the logo on the cap. It also claims to give you super volume. When I took the wand out of the tube, straight away I was thinking how big the applicator was! I thought it would be a bit awkward to do my bottom lashes, but I found it to be okay. On application, I found it needed a few coats, and it made my lashes very black, and thicker, but my curl didn't really hold. I didn't think this was life-changing, and I probably won't be giving up my current mascaras, but it was quite good, considering I did only pay the magazine price. One grumble was that whilst I was out shopping, when I went to the toilet and checked myself in the mirror, I saw flakes of mascara all down my cheeks! This is a total pet hate, I find it looks really cheap and that I can't do my own make-up properly! This happened again when I walked into Topshop and caught a glimpse in the mirror. I shouldn't feel self-concious and have to worry about what my make-up is doing. So I probably won't be wearing this out again in public.

NOTD

Neglecting my cuticles a bit... :( Anyway, this is a Nails Inc polish, in the shade 'Cromwell Road'. It's a very light nude with a tiny hint of shimmer in. Really pretty and not over the top. I prefer creme polishes, I'm not a huge fan of shimmer but I love this. It's so natural and perfect for everyday work.

On a side note - I got my Nicki Minaj OPI Mini Polishes in the post today finally! Love them, I'll post pictures of them shortly. On another sidenote - I have wellll over 200 nail polishes, (not bragging, I'm running out of room! I think I'm mad!) but do people like seeing stuff about nail polishes and nail art? Because I do a bit, so I could post some stuff and swatches and stuff if anybodys interested!

Any good polishes out at the moment you can recommend? Always open to more haha

(I'm posting the lipstick descriptions as these are what I have my eye on!)

I like the look of this collection, the packaging and the bright colours, it's a great way to welcome Spring. But to be honest, the more I look at the pictures, the less interested I actually am in this collection. The packaging is bright blue, yellow and pink, yet all the items don't seem to compliment each other. You have lipsticks and kissable lipcolours that are all pretty much pinks, opposite red and turquoise nail polish and bright paint pots. I would never wear them together. The eye palettes are somewhere in the middle also. I just find this combination really weird, and I think it will be a case of people buying select items from the range and not looking to get a complete look. Although the cremeblend blushes look quite nice too, but once again they're different to the other products. Does anybody else feel this or is it just me being crazy?!

It's a shame only the outside packaging has this design, as I think it would be really good on the actual cosmetic casing. But you can't win them all! I think the promotion pictures have a bit of a 50's housewife feel to them, but with an obvious modern twist, but I love it. Especially the 'pink' look on the model with pink dress, it looks great on her skin tone.

This range comes out next week in the USA, so there will be swatches available soon, so I'm looking forward to seeing them! There are a few more collections coming out over the next few months of course, and I know Beth Ditto has just been confirmed for one which could be quite interesting. I still need to get my hands on some of the Naturally collection that has just been released.

Do you like the looks of this collection? Interested in anything?

MAC Fleur Power

This blush had been on my wishlist for so long, and I regret not getting it sooner! MAC describe it as 'soft bright pinkish-coral' and I think that's a great description. This is one of my daily blushes, it's a satin finish, giving a natural glow. Looks gorgeous teamed with highlighter, I can't get enough of it.

For reference, I'm reeeeeally pale! Like MAC 10/15 and it suits me really well, but I think this is a corally pink which will suit most skintones. I've seen it on plenty of other people and I think that anyway!

Have you got this? What do you think of it? I think I want Melba next, can anybody recommend it?
